Description
English: Staff Sgt. Sanford Gschwend, a K-9 handler with the 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, guides Military Working Dog Pixi through a vehicle search at the entry search pit, March 3, 2009, in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Vehicles coming from off base are searched to ensure the safety of base personnel as well as to ensure no contraband is brought in. Sergeant Gschwend is native to Sacramento, Calif., he and Pixi are both deployed from Yokota Air Base, Japan in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
