Summary
[edit]DescriptionAll Saints Church Farley, Wiltshire, England - Stephen Fox memorial.jpg |
English: Wall-mounted monument to Sir Stephen Fox (1627–1716) and his second wife Christine Hope (1679-1718), in the Ilchester Chapel of All Saints' parish church, Farley, Wiltshire, England, which he built. Unusually the inscription is in French, in which language he was proficient, reflecting the time he spent in France with the exiled King Charles II. He built the church circa 1688-90, to the design of Sir Christopher Wren and effected by master mason Alexander Fort. He is called on the monument fondateur de céans ("founder of this place") |

Notes
[edit]This image might have been cropped to improve composition and/or optimized for white and colour balance and contrast. Please do not upload a modified image without consultation. Images are often JPEGs derived from RAW file format, and reprocessing JPEG files reduces quality. If you believe changes are required, and through discussion this appears appropriate, the author can upload an ammended substitute from the original source, thus maintaining quality. Need a file for hard copy publication?: Noise reduction, camera lens distortion correction, colour balance and sharpening workflow of camera-unsharpened RAW files have been judged through a calibrated HP Z Display monitor. However, for print media this type of optimizing can often prove problematic depending on particular print output requirements. Where a RAW files exists, I can supply the original in native full size format for third party specific hard copy publication optimizing. Author contact: |
