Description:

Tableau en tapisserie de la manufacture de la Savonnerie. Il est entouré d’un cadre d’époque Louis XVI en bois sculpté de frises de perles et rais de cœurs.

Description iconographique:

Ce tableau représente une allégorie de la mort incarnée par un enfant appuyé sur un crâne et faisant des bulles de savon. Cette tapisserie a été réalisée d’après une gravure de Hendrick Goltzius (1558-1617) portant la légende « Quis evadet ? » (qui y échappera).
