Das Schiffsporträt zeigt das Tankschiff der ‚Deutsch-Amerikanischen Petroleum-Gesellschaft‘, Hamburg. Mit der Beflaggung USA, Reederei R und von Deutschland. Das Schiff, 1903 bei Palmers Shipbuilding & Iron Co., Yarrow erbaut und am 1. April 1905 registriert, war ebenfalls wie das Schwesternschiff Phoebus unterwegs im Verkehr Hamburg-New York. 1914 in New York interniert und an Standard Oil Co, of New Jersey , Bayonne veräußert, dort umbenannt in Cushing, ab 1918 als Chinampa für die US-Navy registriert. 1919 geht der Tanker an die Hamburger Reederei zurück, die ihn 1924/25 nach Genua verkauft, dort unter Americano laufend. 1940/41 in Tampico/ Mexiko beschlagnahmt und als Tuxpam für Petroleos Mexicanos aus Tampico im Einsatz. Auf dem Weg von Veracruz nach Tampico vom Deutschen U-Boot U-129 unter Kapitän Hans-Ludwig Witt torpediert und versenkt, es gab 8 Tote und 31 Überlebende. - Vgl.
