| Description |
English: An autographed oil on canvas paint, by Alessandro Seffer, dated 1866. It depicts Piazza Campitello (the actual Piazza dei Martiri), the main square of his town, Belluno. The scene is a perspective of Belluno's biggest square, in a daily life scene. Many people strolling around, elegant rich ladies, horses, soldiers, children playing. On the left side, is visible a café, the Manin, with many well dressed ladies sitting outside. On the right, are visible two mounted Carabinieri, on patrol. At the centre of the paint, is clearly visible the Theatre of Belluno.
Italiano: Dipinto autografo di Alessandro Seffer, pittore Bellunese di nascita, datato 1866. Raffigura la piazza principale di Belluno, Piazza Campitello (oggi Piazza dei Martiri), durante una scena di vita quotidiana della città. Molte persone in abiti eleganti passeggiano, parlano tra loro. Alcuni soldati in uniforme, dei bambini che giocano. Sulla destra si può notare una pattuglia di due Carabinieri a cavallo. Sulla sinistra si intravede la antica pensilina dello storico Caffè Manin, con molte eleganti signore sedute al di sotto di essa. Al centro è raffigurato accuratamente il Teatro Sociale di Belluno, oggi Teatro Comunale. |
