Summary
[edit]DescriptionAlderney VVVs van 23 April 2007, a.jpg |
English: Illustration of two UFOs "of exactly the same design" that were observed hovering in the same field of view in Class A controlled airspace near Alderney from 14:06 to 14:18 on 23 April 2007. The illustration is based on notes and a drawing made by Capt. Ray Bowyer,[1] who placed the nearest object at an altitude of 2,000 ft. Capt. Patrick Patterson, observing from another direction and altitude, and some 20 miles from the same object, placed it similarly at 1,950 ft. Due to relative movements of the observers and two objects, the latter appeared to line up at one point, and could be seen right above one another.[1] Capt. Bowyer revised his initial size estimate (Size of 737) during the return flight, when he realized that it had been visible from 40 to 55 miles rather than a 5, 7 or 10 miles distance, as he initially assumed.[2] The colour of the dark area was "graphite grey", and while not luminous, had some transient coloured effects along its edge. The luminous parts were exceptionally radiant and orangey yellow in colour. The following note was part of the report that was sent to the CAA and MoD before the actual size of the objects became apparent:
Notes: Unidentified object seen. Bright yellow thin, stationary. Size of 737. 2nd object same shape seen behind first at some distance. — brilliant yellow – dark area
