The length of the coast in the South is about 155 kilometers. Beyond the most western point of the Cape St Vincent the country extends over still 50 kilometers northward. The coast is remarkable for the picturesque caves and the abysses of limestone, particularly around Lagos, which are accessible by motorboat. Praia da Marinha, to Lagoa was classified in the most beautiful 100 beaches and best of the world. There is the other numerous beautiful popular places of the tourists, as for example Albufeira, Vilamoura, Praia da Rocha, Lagos, Armação of Pêra, Alvor, monte Gordo, Tavira, Salema and Sagres. Algarve also welcomes every year the Cup)of Algarve, the international tournament of feminine football opened to the national teams. |
