English: Alaska Army National Guardsman Maj. Jeffrey Roberts, 1-297th Reconnaissance and Surveillance Squadron, races during the 2012 Hero Games bucket brigade/vehicle push event, June 23. During the event, team members had to race 50 yards, one at a time, carrying buckets full of water to fill a second container. Once the second container was filled, they had to push a Humvee down the street across a finish line. The Fourth Annual Hero Games’ five overall events included the obstacle course, litter carry/scooter race, water balloon volleyball, bucket brigade/vehicle push, and tug-of-war. Participants included teams represented by Anchorage Police, Anchorage Fire Department, U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserve, U.S. Army, Alaska Air National Guard and the Alaska Army National Guard. The Hero Games are held each year during the Summer Solstice festival in downtown Anchorage.
