Summary
[edit]DescriptionAkai GX-65mkII (1991-1993) 03.jpg |
English: Akai GX-65mkII cassette deck (1991-1993). The 1990 GX-65 and the 1991 GX-65mkII were the junior models in Akai's "big and fat" range of "tall" decks of the early 1990s. Above them came GX-67, GX-69, GX-75 and GX-95 (the latter two also having mkII variants). The price difference was not substantial - 500 USD for GX-65 vs. 800 USD for GX-95. This was the last generation of Akai's cassette decks. By the end of the decade the company was dead and split to pieces. The GX-65mkII uses the same vacuum display as the senior GX models and auto-reversing models from other ranges. Some indicator fields visible here (e.g. IPSS, E-Fade, B-Skip and reverse playback) are used elsewhere but not in GX-65mkII. |
