Euskara: 1974ko uztailaren 27an inauguratu zen. Lekarozeko Ikasle Ohien Elkarteak Jose Lopetegiri enkargatu zion obra, hasieran, baina hark egindako obra ez zitzaien egokia iruditu, eta zenbait urte geroago, Jose Maria Verak aldez aurretik egina zuen obra bat hautatu zuten; obra hori Aita Donostiaren artxibategiko jabegokoa zen. Hiriko Udalak oniritzia eman zuen eta hirian leku bat esleitu zion. Lekarozko Ikasle Ohien Elkarteak brontze-hustuketaren gastuak bere kargura hartu zituen eta Foru Aldundiak marmolezko oinazpiko bat eman zuen
Español: Se inauguró el 27 de julio de 1974. Obra encargada por la Asociación de Excolegiales de Lecároz en un primer momento a otro escultor, pero al no considerar adecuado el trabajo, tras varios años se echó mano de una obra ya realizada por José Mª de Vera, que era propiedad del Archivo del P. Donostia. El Ayuntamiento de la ciudad dio su visto bueno y le adjudicó un sitio en la ciudad. La asociación de excolegiales de Lecároz corrió con los gastos de vaciado en bronce y la Diputación aportó una peana de mármol. |
