Description
English: Air Force Col. Leo K. Thorsness is one of the most highly decorated American airmen of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his heroism on a mission that took place just over a week before he was shot down and taken prisoner for nearly six years. He is pictured above with President Richard Nixon, who presented Thorsness with the Medal of Honor in 1973. Air Force photo
