Summary
[edit]DescriptionAgnes the martyr strikes down a suitor, the prefects son. Her hair grows to cover her named innocence.jpg |
English: St Agnes (Agnes means lamb in Latin) is 12 or 13. She denies a suitor who tells his Dad she’s a Christian. This is before Constantine so being a Christian is not allowed. The govt. prefect has her drug thru the streets naked to a brothel to punish her. By miracle, her hair grows to cover her body, and the prefects son who rats her out dies. But she preys for him and he’s comes back alive. The men who try to rape her are struck blind. A Roman representative decides she should burn. The flames won’t touch her, so they order her head cut off or stabbed in the neck. Her foster sister also gets the same when she comes to mourn. St. Agnes with all these miracles becomes a martyr and patron saint of innocent girls, those who have been sexually abused, maybe foster kids etc. |
