English: Aerial view of Hillesheim, Germany, 16 February 1945. Note the rail line from Dümpelfeld to Lissendorf going from the lower right to the upper left. South of Hillesheim station is the line from Hillesheim to Gerolstein with its prominent viaduct visible by its shade. It was later blown up by retreating German troops and was not rebuilt. On the left is the rail line from Trier to Cologne to which both lines connected. |
