Great quantities of western products pass through Buffalo. Itsprincipal manufactures are lumber and flour. Meat-packing is herean extensive industry. Rochester and Syracuse are on the Erie canal and theNew York Central railroad. Rochester has large flouringmills. Syracuse is famous for its salt-works.
