Description
English: The life is like a tightrope walking. Handcolored etching «Lebenslauf» (English: «Life» or even «Biography») by Adi Holzer 1997 (Work number 850). It is a part of the Rosentaler Suite from the year 1997.
Deutsch: Handkolorierte Farbradierung «Lebenslauf» aus der Rosentaler Suite von Adi Holzer 1997 (Werksverzeichnis 850). Adi Holzer vergleicht das Leben mit dem ausbalancierten Drahtseilakt eines Seiltänzers. Er verwendet in der Farbradierung Hinweise auf Ereignisse und Orte in Österreich aus seinem eigenen Leben: Burg Greifenstein, Tieffliegerangriff bei Mauthausen 1945, Wiener Riesenrad, Kinderwiege, Grabkreuz seines Vaters in Stockerau, Kirche von Winklern. Am linken Rand der Radierung findet sich die verblasste Inschrift: «Ich habe eine kleine Zeit Mühe und Arbeit gehabt und habe großen Trost gefunden. Gruss an Johannes Brahms.» Am rechten Rand steht eine verblasste Inschrift mit dem Namen der österreichischen Dichterin Gertraud Patterer. Am unteren Bildrand findet sich ein Hinweis darauf, dass Adi Holzer schon früher einen «Lebenslauf» in kleinerem Format veröffentlicht hat. Rechts davon weist Adi Holzer darauf hin, dass er diese Farbradierung seiner Frau «Kirsten Inger Mygind» widmet, die er bei Verwendung der Initialen Kim nennt und mit dem Kosenamen «Kimchen» anspricht.
