Several months ago, the James Webb Space Telescope successfully cleared its final thermal vacuum test, designed to ensure its hardware will function electronically in the vacuum of space, and withstand the extreme temperatures it will encounter on orbit. These archival photos show Northrop Grumman techs and engineers working on the telescope's spacecraft element, which includes the sunshield and the spacecraft bus. This was the piece of flight hardware undergoing testing.
