Across the high moor

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Across the high moor This is a deviation of the original flow of the headwaters of the Craigdouffie Burn probably dug to provide water to open cast coal mining operations which took place here in the 1980s. This burn continues through old workings into a gorge where another - unnamed - burn flows. Ordnance Survey maps are in conflict with the routes of these burns. The Explorer map no. 348/9 reflects the present situation wheras the Landranger map No.64 continues to show the previous line of the Craigdouffie.
