Description

As delegações indígenas chegam a Brasília para a edição de 2023 do Acampamento Terra Livre (ATL), que ocorrerá de 24 a 28 de abril. O tema deste ano é “O futuro indígena é hoje. Sem demarcação, não há democracia!”.

São esperados mais de 6 mil indígenas na capital federal para as atividades desta semana.

Entre elas, plenárias e marchas pelas ruas de Brasília para protestar contra o projetos de lei considerados por eles como “anti-indígenas”. Um desses projetos, o Projeto de Lei 191/2020, permite a mineração em terras ancestrais dos povos indígenas. Além disso, durante toda semana estão previstas noites culturais.

Segundo a Articulação dos Povos Indígenas do Brasil (Apib), organizadora do evento, o ATL reforça a importância da demarcação das terras indígenas no Brasil, paralisadas nos últimos quatro anos. A entidade destaca que mais de 200 terras indígenas estão na fila da demarcação da Fundação Nacional dos Povos Indígenas (Funai). Ao todo, 13 territórios estão com o processo em andamento, com a homologação a ser feita. Até o momento, cerca de 600 foram regularizadas.
