Description
English: Acafoth, or seven circuits around the coffin. Funeral among Portuguese Jews in Amsterdam. A procession of men, each holding a text, is in circling the coffin. One on wall is an inscription in Portuguese giving the name and profession of the deceased, an "administrator", and the saying, "Charity escapes death." It is also decorated with a death's head.
