Summary
[edit]DescriptionAbove The Hollies - geograph.org.uk - 1499163.jpg |
English: Above The Hollies The Hollies - an area of ancient holly trees (no surprise there...) which was recently acquired by the Shropshire Wildlife Trust as part of their estate. The detailed history to the place is to be found on their website at http://www.shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/wp_31_hollies.html, but in summary it's probably the only surviving site in the country where the hollies were pollarded for winter cattle feed 300-400 years ago. |
