Description
Deutsch: Abell 85, auch als CTB 1 bekannt, ist ein Supernova-Überrest etwa 10.000 bis 11.000 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt. Der Überrest hat eine kreisrunde Form und zeigt schwache Radiostrahlung, die auf die Wechselwirkung der Schockwelle mit dem interstellaren Medium hinweist. Wegen seiner fadenförmigen Strukturen wird er auch “Meduzanebel” genannt.  (c) Michael Frank
