Français : Abbaye de Saint-Martin-aux-Bois (Oise) - Eglise Saint-Martin

L’abbaye Saint-Martin-aux-Bois est une ancienne abbaye située dans le village français de Saint-Martin-aux-Bois dans l’Oise. Elle a été fondée vers 1080 par des chanoines réguliers de saint Augustin, et les Jésuites ont également été présents dans l'abbaye entre 1675 et 1772. Les six derniers moines se sont dispersés en 1790. De l'abbaye médiévale, la guerre de Cent Ans n'a laissé subsister que la muraille d'enceinte, un bâtiment conventuel au sud de l'ancien cloître, fortement remanié depuis, et l'église. De l'abbaye reconstruite à la fin du XVe et au début du XVIe siècle, ne restent que la porte fortifiée, des vestiges peu évocateurs et notamment des bâtiments agricoles, dont un colombier. C'est pour son église que Saint-Martin-aux-Bois est connue. Elle fait partie des premiers monuments historiques français, classés en 18401. C'est l'un des monuments importants du département de l'Oise et l'une des plus remarquables œuvres de l'architecture gothique du milieu du XIIIe siècle dans le Nord de la France. Il ne s'agit en réalité que du chœur de l'église avec ses collatéraux, la nef ayant été détruite en 1445 à moins qu'elle n'ait jamais été construite, ce qui n'a toujours pas été établi avec certitude.
