Description

Edmée, the sister of my great grandfather Daniel Granade driving a plane (1950's)

Edmée, la soeur de mon arrière grand-père aux commandes d'un avion (années 1950). Merci à ma lointaine cousine Fabienne Gimenez pour le partage de cette photo !

L'avion semble être un Stampe SV-4. Ce modèle de biplan avait été conçu pour l'entraînement, il fut fut plus tard utilisé pour la voltige aérienne. Dans les années 1950, il était fréquemment utilisé dans les aéro-club. Edmée était une des rares femmes à piloter de tels avions. Elle pratiquait l'aviation dans un club près de Lyon (Bron). C'est dans ce club d'aviation qu'elle rencontra d'ailleurs son second mari (elle était veuve de guerre après que son 1er époux ait été tué lors de la guerre, en 1916).
