||
Description |
English: The object is seal matrix made from cast copper alloy and has an incised legend. Seal matrices such as this date to the 13th to 14th century. The seal matrix is a pointed oval in plan. It is a flat back type, which has a small integral loop on the reverse, at one corner, with a diminishing ridge extending from the loop to the opposite corner. The device of the seal matrix is uncertain, there is a horizontal crescentic shape with a sub ‘X’ shape, whose are arms slightly wavy. The legend is unclear.The surface of the seal matrix is in poor condition, it is corroded with red copper corrosion, and there is only a trace of a dark green patina. It weighs 6.18g and measures 28.9mm long and 17.1mm wide. |
