Description

PERSIAN GULF (Jan. 21, 2014) Sailors assigned to Task Group 56.7.4 transit the Persian Gulf aboard a riverine command boat during a training exercise. Riverine command boats provide a multi-mission platform for the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility by focusing on maritime security operations, maritime infrastructure protection, and theater security cooperation efforts, in addition to offensive combat operations.
