English: The clownfish Amphiprion ocellaris (known from the Walt Disney/Pixar cartoon Finding Nemo). Photo is from a coral reef near the Japanese island Sesoko and taken 2 m below water surface. In the background is the giant carpet anemone Stichodactyla gigantea with which the clownfish forms a symbiosis.
Dansk: Den berømte nemo klovnfisk, Amphiprion ocellaris, fotograferet i sin symbiose søanemone Stichodactyla gigantea, på 2 m dybde, på et koralrev ud for den japanske ø Sesoko, i det nordvestlige Stillehav. Et eksepmle på en mutualistisk symbiose - efter den oprindelige definition af Anton de Barys (som alle ikke-profesionelle biologer anbefales at benytte). Dvs. et samliv, der er til fordel for begge parter. De seneste forskningsresultater foretaget af isralerere og amerikanere i 2003 og 2004 viser at klovnfisk bidrager signifikant til deres søanemoners vækst via ammonium og fosfat og søanemonespisende fisk bliver skræmt væk af klovnfiskene, mens fiskene på sin side bliver beskyttet mod rovfisk af søanemonens gitige nældeceller (se også side om nældceller).
