| Description | So here then is a final look at gorgeous main shrine of Amritsar's Harmandir Sahib/ Golden Temple before we depart. My sis in law wanted to return here again the following morning by day, but having seen the temple in such great detail, and having spent all of four hours here, better sense fortunately prevailed. We had plenty of more ground to cover, outside of the Golden Temple, so we all took an unanimous decision in the end against a repeat visit. Here again was a case of people pushing in. After photographing this gorgeous shrine, we were lining up next to a many distributing 'prasad' (small item of food offerings to the gods post prayers)- it was a sweet made from semolina. And here is when an elderly Sikh lady forcefully pushed me aside and stuck her hands ahead of me to receive the offering. She had two small children with her as well, so I simply ignored the incident. Yet another example of uncouth behaviour and a severe sense of entitlement, just as I had experienced in the Forbidden City in Beijing earlier that year.
