Title
A copper-alloy unidentified artefact of uncertain date
Description
English: A Medieval copper-alloy harness pendant dating to c. AD 1100-1400. This pendant is in the form of a six pelleted flower, each 'petal' ending with a rounded lobe and on the upper suface being separated from its neighbouring petals by a 'V' shaped groove. The pendant would originally have been suspended from a shank with a suspension perforation at the top. A slight trace of the missing shank can be seen at the tip of one of the petals. The shank had a sub-square cross section but has broken off extremely close to the petal and what does remain is very worn. It is not possible to determine the original length of the shank. The base of the shank has a width of 3.08mm and thickness of 2.68mm. The reverse surface is flat and undecorated. Weight is 5.06g, diameter is 17.17mm, thickness is 4.44mm.
