Title |
A complete cast cu-alloy crotal/rumbler bell Post-Medieval date c.1500-1800AD. |
||
Description |
English: A complete cast cu-alloy crotal/rumbler bell Post-Medieval date c.1500-1800AD with iron pea still intact. The bell is in very good condition and still contains its internal rumbler, which consists of a loose circular fragment of iron. The bell is in complete working order and emits a tuneful jingle. The outside of the bell is decorated with a radiating stylised leaf pattern. The bell is an irregular hollow sphere with a square suspension loop at the top. At the largest circumference of the bell sits a median raised ridge. This separates the sphere into two distinctive halves. In the upper half, placed directly below the attachment loop, are two perforations for sound holes.
The length is 45mm, the width is 32mm and the weight is 40.71g. |
