English: A Short Walk 474811 : Last -- (1 of 20) -- Next : 474114
Try to imagine this short, after lunch walk as being in the shape of a tadpole. The walk starts at the bottom of the tail, goes clockwise around the body and then, back down the tail. At the end of the tail is the Hardwick Inn and car park, whilst the body comprises Hardwick Great Pond and a small area of wetland to the south. If youre a patron of the Hardwick Inn then you can park your car in this 474106, otherwise look for some parking in the lane ahead. The lane, which is also the vehicular exit for visitors to Hardwick Hall, leads to the Hardwick Inn to the right and Stanley Lane to the left. Turn right and, watching for traffic, walk by the inn and into the park via the gate to the left of the cattle grid. |
