A Roman glass short oblate bead.
Description
English: A Roman glass short oblate bead dating from the 3rd or 4th centuries AD (Crummy 1983 p 32). The bead is made of an opaque blue with seven opaque white vertical mosaic sections running around the body of the bead. There are also white mosaic circles at either end of the bead, around the hole. The hole is 1.7mm in diameter and travels through the centre of the bead. The bead is 6.7mm long, 9.1 in diameter and weighs 0.8g.
