Remembering the World Parrot Day - 31st May - to celebrate these beautiful birds which are amongst the most trafficked birds in the world. - Out of 398 species, 111 are considered globally threated. - 56% of all parrot species are in decline. This number could be much higher now. - They are the most threatened of all bird species. (<a href="https://www.birdlife.org/worldwide/news/study-identifies-parrots-most-threatened-bird-group" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.birdlife.org/worldwide/news/study-identifies-parrots-...</a>) They are harmless and bring joy to anyone who spends a bit of time watching them. I do hope that we can continue to sustain these beautiful creatures for ever and act against the threats of habitat loss, Climate Change and trade. |
