English: The parents of Colin R. Caskey pin rank insignias on their son, a newly commissioned United States Marine Corps 2nd Lieutenant, during Caskey’s commissioning ceremony at Old Main at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., Sept. 15, 2014. Caskey, a Scottsdale, Ariz, native and a 2009 graduate from Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, graduated from ASU in May with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Caskey earned his commission through the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) program with an aviation option and upon completion of The Basic School (TBS), which he begins Oct. 14, he will go to flight school in Pensacola, Fla. “I wanted a challenge I felt only the Marine Corps could provide,” said Caskey. “It’s an honor to become a small part of the tradition within the Marine Corps.” Young men and women attending any accredited four-year college or university are eligible for PLC.
