Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Alkefjellet is a basalt rock formation at Hinlopen Strait on Spitsbergen, harboring approximately 60,000 breeding pairs of Brünnich's guillemot (Uria lomvia) in summer. Birds are sitting on every possible space on the cliff with their back to the open air in order to protect the hatchlings.
