English: Capt. Samuel Shepherd, Headquarters Company commander, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, radios Forward Operating Base Ramrod for additional support after a civilian convoy was ambushed July 20 on Highway 1 in the Kandahar province. U.S. Soldiers from the 1-12th IN helped Afghan national police secure the site after the ambush. According to the ANP, one driver was injured after insurgents pulled the truckers out of the vehicles and set fire to their trucks. |
