Atsara and the common man

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Atsaras, Bhutanese jesters, inject humor and mischief into the solemnity of the Thimphu Tshechu festival. Their colorful costumes and exaggerated masks symbolize spiritual protection and evoke laughter, while their antics entertain and educate spectators about Buddhist teachings. Atsaras play a vital role in preserving Bhutan's cultural heritage and adding joy to religious festivities.
