Evan Werkema wrote as a caption, "The bridge is the Muir Trestle or Alhambra Viaduct near Martinez, CA. The timetable location used to be known as Muir (John Muir's house was and still is close to the west end of the trestle on the other side of Highway 4). We are looking timetable westbound across the trestle toward Tunnel 2. By 1980, the line west of Stockton, CA was about the only place on the AT&SF where you could still find US&S Style S upper quadrant semaphores, the kind with the mechanism in the base."
