Description

Apollo 17 Hasselblad image from film magazine 137/C - EVA-2.
This photo was used in Figure 4-33 of the Apollo 17 Preliminary Science Report (SP-330, 1973), which has the following caption:

The orange soil on the rim of Shorty Crater can be seen on both sides of the LRV. The rim of the crater extends from the left foreground to the middle right edge of the photograph. Samples were collected between the LRV and the large boulder. (See fig. 4-34.) The low mountain centered on the horizon is Family Mountain, 6 km in the distance.
