English: The ALEUTIAN EXPRESS at John Wayne Marina Sequim Washington June 10, 2016. The former 1912 Portland Oregon fire boat DAVID CAMPBELL later renamed CHIEF when the New 1927 fire boat DAVID CAMPBELL came into service. Redesigned and rebuilt in 1929 as the power schooner ALEUTIAN NATIVE. Converted to and oil Tanker in 1935 and renamed EXPRESS in 1939 participating in the Battle of the Aleutians in WWII. Converted to a crabber/towboat in 1952 for Bering Sea King Crab. |
