Description

A view looking northwest of the American Electric Power (AEP) building under construction on the left. In the distance can be seen the water tower for the Ohio Penitentiary. The AEP building lot is bordered by Spring Street on the north, Long Street on the south, and Marconi Boulevard on the east. Ground was broken for the building on March 11, 1981. The building was dedicated on October 7, 1983. See also: "AEP Breaks Ground For Main Office" in the Columbus Dispatch, March 11, 1981, page B-9; "Gas bill protestors at AEP ceremony" in the Columbus Dispatch, October 8, 1983, page B-8. The AEP building appears behind the Federal Courthouse, 85 Marconi Boulevard.
