Description
English: Dredging below McAlpine Locks.

"Buddy" after dropping dredge anchor in new location (just upstream from K&I Bridge pier). In foreground is one of two "knees" by which a towboat exerts its motive force on the barge or barges (the "tow") it is towing (actually pushing, but historically called towing). The crewman at right is leaning on one of two winches (some boats have more) used to tightly secure the tow to the knees.
