Close-up of stern of towboat "Indian Princess" maneuvering tow next to canal wall. . Twin screw towboat "Indian Princess" (doc. # 239996, length 176.5 feet, width 36.4 feet, GM 16-645C diesels [repowered in 1974], 3800 hp). Built in 1940 by Dravo Corp., Neville Island, Pennsylvania. Originally named "Wm. Penn", owned by Union Barge Line, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1960, sold to Point Towing Co., Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and renamed "R. H. Bosworth II". In 1970, sold to M/G Transport Services, Cincinnati, Ohio, and renamed "Midland". In 1973, sold to Midstream Shipyards and Supply, Greenville, Mississippi, and renamed "Martha Trotter". Operated by Trotter Towing Corp., Greenville. Changed hands several times, then in 1984 sold to Triangle Marine, Greenville, and renamed "Lucy Lee". In 1994, sold to Northstar Navigation, Paducah, Kentucky, and renamed "Indian Princess". In 2004, sold to Versatility Marine, Gonzales, Louisiana, and renamed "Captain Billy Watson". In 2007, the boat was shipped to South America. . Ohio River mile 606. Louisville, Kentucky. Mar. 3, 2001. file # a1c006. .
