Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Four U.S. Navy LTV A-7E Corsair II aircraft from attack squadron VA-72 Blue Hawks fly in formation as they return to the United States following deployment in the Persian Gulf area during Operation Desert Storm on 1 June 1991. The Corsair at the rear exhibits a special camouflage paint scheme and sports the name of the war in which it played a role. VA-72 and VA-46 Clansmen were the last U.S. Navy A-7 squadrons and were decommissioned following their return home after twenty years of service in Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3). Both squadrons were last assigned to the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) and were decommissioned on 30 June 1991.
