This aircraft had been built for the U.S. Navy as a Grumman A-6A Intruder (BuNo 151782). It was first retired to the MASDC at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona (USA) as 5A0038 on 28 April 1980. It was later updated to an A-6E and returned to service. It was finally retired on 1 November 1995 and put in storage at the Naval Air Depot at the Naval Air Station North Island, California (USA), until being put on display. |
