English: A U.S. Navy Grumman A-6E Intruder aircraft (BuNo 157003) of attack squadron VA-75 Sunday Punchers and Vought A-7E Corsair II aircraft of VA-46 Clansmen fly in formation as they prepare for refueling during "Operation Desert Storm" in early 1991. The Corsairs are armed with cluster bombs and AIM-9L Sidewinder air-to-air missiles. The Intruder carrier four drop tanks and a "buddy-buddy" refueling pack. VA-76 and VA-46 were assigned to Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) from 15 August 1990 to 28 March 1991. This was the last deployment for the A-7 Corsair. The A-6E 157003 was retired to AMARC as 5A0083 on 19 November 1993. |
