Description Six Douglas A-4C Skyhawks from detachment attack squadron VA-93 Blue Blazers in the early 1960s. VA-93 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 9 (CVG-9) for two deployments to the Western Pacific in 1961/63 aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CV-61). The A-4C in front (BuNo 147750) was later converted to an A-4L an is today on display near front gate of the former NAS New Orleans, Louisiana (USA). The next A-4C (147723) was also converted to an A-4L. BuNo 147718 was lost in a non-combat accident on 11 November 1966, while being assigned to VA-22, CVW-2, on the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43). The pilot was rescued.
