Description
English: A U.S. Navy Douglas A-1H Skyraider (BuNo 139799) from Attack Squadron 122 (VA-122) "Spad School" landing. This aircraft was later transferred to the U.S. Air Force as 52-139799. It served with the 22nd Special Operations Squadron, 56th Special Operations Wing at Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai Air Force Base, and was hit by ground fire west of Ban Sephan, Khammouan Province, Laos, on 22 January 1970. The pilot headed back to Nakhon Phanom but the aircraft crashed 30 km north-west of the air base. The pilot was rescued by a USAF helicopter.
