Strike a pose! After fighting in the American Revolution, Charles Willson Peale painted portraits of some of the most famous people in the United States. Everyone from George Washington to Benjamin Franklin. He also did taxidermy (stuffing and preserving dead animals)- he even tried to preserve Ben Franklin’s cat! Peale had a museum on the second floor of Independence Hall where he showed his portraits and animals that he collected. Conversation Topic: What would you display in a museum?
