Title
9AF306 mount?
Description
English: Post medieval? copper alloy and gilt mount, 26.5mm long, 19mm wide and 2mm thick. The object has a green patina with gilding on both surfaces and weighs 2.30 grams. The object is diamond shaped and has the remains of two rivets on its reverse which are slightly off centre. From the front it has the appearance of a button. It has a circle of raised dots in its centre, within this are four holes, two large and two small, with the space between these forming a cross shape. Three of its four corners have the remains of scroll like motifs, with varying degress of damage. The object appears to have been some sort of mount that has been re-used as a button.
