English: Location of this monument:
Sodaratirtha, now known as Naranag or Narayan nag, is about 5 kilometers northeast of Wangat village and 50 kilometers northeast from Srinagar. It is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site along the Kanaka river in upper valley, one mentioned in the historic Rajatarangini text. Once home to numerous Hindu temples, ruins of two major complexes and a few isolated temples between Wangat and Naranag have survived. Both the complexes are within peristyle similar to Marttand and Anantipur. One of these is the Bhutesa group of ancient temples of Naranag (floor plan show above). All the shrines have a square plan. This is a JPEG format plan and architectural drawing of a historic Indian temple or monument. The relative scale and relative dimensions in this architectural drawing are close to the actual but neither exact nor complete. The plan illustrates the design and layout, but some intricate details or parts of the temple may not be shown. In cases where exact measurements were not feasible, the drawing uses best approximations and rounds the best measurements feasible. Note: Please do not overwrite this file.
